Houston County School District

Through Mercer University’s Enterprise Learning Partnership with Houston County School District, eligible individuals directly employed by Houston County School District receive the following educational benefits when enrolling in eligible academic programs within Mercer University’s Tift College of Education or College of Professional Advancement:

Education Partners Tuition Scholarship:

  • 25% tuition scholarship per credit hour for all online initial teacher certification, advanced teacher education, and educational leadership programs offered through Mercer University’s Tift College of Education
  • 25% tuition scholarship per credit hour for School Counseling programs offered through Mercer University’s College of Professional Advancement

Tift College Pathway to Teaching Scholarship:

  • Additional 25% tuition scholarship per credit hour for a district cohort of 10 or more paraprofessionals or teachers on provisional certificates enrolling in initial teacher certification programs at the B.S.Ed. or M.A.T. level; scholarship limits apply

Presidential Educational Leadership Fellowship:

  • Invitation for eligible candidates enrolling in P-12 educational leadership programs at the M.Ed., Ed.S., or Ph.D. level to participate in a fellowship program for the length of their academic program; candidates must be recommended by the district and approved by the University to participate in the fellowship

Mercer University’s application fee on the application for admission is waived for all eligible candidates. Benefits listed above are effective for new enrollments beginning with the Fall II enrollment term in October 2026.
